People who desire a non-surgical regrowth strategy that is safe and effective choose the PRP+Acell Hair loss Therapy. This innovative procedure combines the best platelet rich plasma (PRP), ACell biomatrix, and injectable nutrients to treat hair loss and to facilitate hair growth.
PRP is loaded with growth factors that promote rapid angiogenesis, stem cell migration and localized cell growth. PRP is effective for both male and female hair loss. PRP is used successfully to treat alopecia areata and other causes of non-hereditary hair loss. Sometimes this approach is combined with other hair loss procedures or medications.
We use the Harvest PRP Kit with ACell biomatrix for the regeneration of your hair through the use of your own growth factors and your circulating mesenchymal stem cells. Harvest PRP is the #1 PRP kit used in US hospitals for its superb quality and high concentration (4x – 6x) of platelets. ACell micromatrix facilitates site-appropriate tissue formation through constructive remodeling. Over 90% of our patients experience an increase in hair density after just one treatment.
How is the PRP & ACell Treatment Done?
For your PRP & ACell non-surgical hair regeneration, we ask you to arrive at FaceLine Aesthetics hair loss treatment clinic about 40 minutes prior to your appointment time. Our PRP trained nurse will draw your blood from your arm vein just like a blood draw for routine labs at your family doctor’s office. She will process your blood using the Harvest Smartprep PRP system, an FDA approved PRP system in a centrifuge to separate your platelets from your red and white blood cells. This Platelet Rich Plasma is them mixed with ACell for maximum hair follicle nourishment and stimulation of dormant hair follicles. For your comfort, we numb your scalp using the “ring block” and “occipital nerve block” depending on the area being treated before your PRP & ACell injection treatment. This intensely nourishing PRP & ACell mixture is injected into the area of hair loss. We finish by doing a scalp surface treatment with the Microneedling and topical application of the PRP & ACell mixture to areas of bare scalp. After your PRP injection and microneedling, you will sit comfortably wearing LLLT cap for about 20 minutes to further enhance the results of your PRP therapy. The entire treatment takes about an hour for most people. For larger area, it may take a little longer. You may have slight soreness and tenderness int he area treated for 2-3 days following your treatment.
PRP injections trigger natural hair growth and maintain it by increasing blood supply to the hair follicle and increasing the thickness of the hair shaft.
Low-Level Laser Therapy (LLLT) or cool laser for hair regrowth is an exciting new option for people with androgenic alopecia which is non-invasive and painless. LLLT is a “cold” laser that uses diodes that emit red light (wavelength 630-670 nanometers). Low-level laser therapy is believed to increase blood flow in the scalp and reduce the levels of DHT in the hair follicles. This reduces inflammation of the hair follicles, stimulates circulation to the hair follicles and reverses the hair phases from catagen (shedding) or telogen (resting) follicles to anagen (growth) follicles; the result is less hair shedding and increase in hair growth and density.
Recommended treatments: One session of 30 minutes each at least twice a week for first two weeks after the PRP+ACell injections, then 2 treatments/month for 6 months (15 sessions).
At FaceLine Aesthetics, we use the LLLT along with medical treatments and PRP + ACell hair regeneration scalp injection treatment as clinically indicated in each patient. The hair regeneration response to LLLT varies from person to person as with any regenerative treatment such as PRP + ACell injection, oral medications and topical minoxidil due to various individual factors such as genetics, lifestyle, nutrition, stress etc.
Overall, most regenerative treatments tend to work better when administered to individuals who are in early stages of hair loss and have viable hair follicles in the scalp to regenerate new hairs. Also, we have found that a comprehensive approach with improvements in lifestyle, nutrition, medications (as clinically indicated) and addition of other treatments such as PRP + ACell (if no contraindications) tend to yield the best overall results in individuals with early hair loss.
What Is Low Level Laser Therapy (LLLT) Hair Regeneration Treatment?
Low Level Laser Therapy (LLLT) or cool laser for hair regrowth is an exciting new option for people with androgenic alopecia which is non-invasive and painless.
How Does the LLLT Work For Hair Regeneration?
Low level laser therapy is believed to increase blood flow in the scalp and reduce the levels of DHT in the hair follicles. This reduces inflammation of the hair follicles, stimulates the circulation to the hair follicles and reverses the hair phases from catagen(shedding) or telogen(resting) follicles to anagen(growth) follicles; the result is less hair shedding and increase in hair growth and density.
How Soon Can I Expect To See The Results From LLLT For Hair Regrowth?
Results vary depending on many factors, including the degree of hair loss and individual response.
How Long Does The Low Level Laser Therapy Take?
LLLT hair regeneration treatments can take up to half an hour per single session.
How Many Treatments Do I Need?
We recommend 2 treatments/week for first two weeks, then 2 treatments/month for 6 months. We administer the LLLT for minimum of six months (15 treatments). We evaluate your hair regrowth after finishing the first six months of LLLT treatments.
Are There Any Risks Associated With the Hair Regrowth Laser?
The low level laser therapy for hair regrowth is entirely safe and meets all international safety standards and legislative specifications of a “non-significant risk” product. The LLLT laser is considered class II laser.
LLLT received FDA-clearance in January of 2007 for treatment of “androgenic alopecia” in men or “male pattern hair loss” and in 2009 it got FDA clearance for treatment of “female pattern hair loss”.
