KYBELLA™ (deoxycholic acid) injection is indicated for improvement in the appearance of moderate to severe fullness associated with submental fat in adults. Submental fat commonly referred to as “double chin” is one of the most under-addressed areas in cosmetic medicine due to lack of safe and effective non-surgical treatment options until now.

KYBELLA™ is the first and only FDA-approved injectable drug that contours and improves the appearance of submental fullness. As such KYBELLA™ fills a gap in the cosmetic industry by providing a non-surgical and effective treatment option to target this common problem.

Submental fat can affect individuals of all ages and all body types, even skinny people.  A double chin can age you and can make you look heavier no matter what your age or weight. And, in many cases, double chin does not respond to further weight loss if your weight is already within normal range. Double chin in an otherwise normal weight individual is genetic and has little or no improvement with weight loss.

Before the FDA approval of  KYBELLA™, the only option for under chin fat removal was surgical liposuction treatment, which involves anesthesia, going under the knife, scar and considerable downtime. With KYBELLA™ you have a safe, well documented and effective non-surgical cosmetic treatment which allows you to get rid of your double chin and achieve a tighter under the chin with a more contoured jawline without a knife or downtime.

Lipodissolve or mesotherapy involves a series of injections that are supposed to melt away localized fat deposits. The drugs most regularly used in are phosphatidylcholine and deoxycholate (commonly called PC and DC, respectively). Our patients experience excellent results with Lipodissolve for non-surgical spot fat reduction and for body contouring. We do not recommend Lipodissolve for weight loss.

For your Lipodissolve spot fat reduction, you will be evaluated to make sure that you are a candidate for this treatment. We do not recommend Lipodissolve for individuals with severe and uncontrolled systemic medical illnesses such as uncontrolled diabetes, uncontrolled high blood pressure, severe liver or kidney disease. We do not recommend Lipodissolve if there is a  skin infection of the proposed treatment area.

Your stubborn fat areas, treatment goals, the number of treatments needed, and realistic expectations are discussed before the treatment. The treatment area is marked, photographed and cleaned. The Lipodissolve medication is injected with a very fine needle into the excess fat. Fat break down starts immediately after the injection and continues for 2-3 weeks.
