Chemical Peels

A chemical peel, also called chemexfoliation or derma peeling, is the use of chemical exfoliants to remove the dull and damaged outermost layers of skin.

How does a chemical peel work?

Chemical solutions are carefully applied to your skin to improve its texture by removing the damaged outer layers. Dr. Rafi will adjust the chemical formulas strength and composition to your individual needs.

The peel provides dramatic results with virtually no pain, no skin preparation and little downtime. It will improve the tone, texture and clarity of the skin. It reduces or eliminates age spots, freckles, and hyper-pigmentation, including melisma. The peel softens lines and wrinkles; clears acne skin conditions; reduces or eliminates acne scars.

In response to the chemical peel, the body produces new collagen, for firmer, more youthful skin.

Does it hurt?

The chemical peel Dr. Rafi uses has an anesthetic as part of its formulary which makes this virtually pain free.

How long is the recovery time?

There is little down time and most patients complete the peeling process within seven days. You will enjoy younger and radiant skin in about one week

Is it safe?

Chemical peels are supervised very closely and so they are considered quite safe and can be used on all skin types.

Are chemical peels covered by insurance?

Chemical peels are not covered by insurance

How many treatments are needed?

Only Dr. Rafi will be able to estimate how many treatments would be needed to achieve and maintain the desired results.
